The celebrations continued with the ceremonial piping in of the Haggis by Scot McCaig and Colin Monteith brought a lively touch to the delivery of the Address to the Haggis with his enthusiastic rendition. The audience was then treated to a series of hugely entertaining speeches, including The Immortal Memory delivered by Alec Ross, a Toast to the Lassies by John Ramsey and a wonderful Reply from the Lassies by Emma Harper MSP.
Guests were then treated to a fabulous meal expertly served by the North West Castle Hotel staff. The night then continued with a lively ceilidh performed by The Wee Duff Orchestra & Elaine Barton.
Throughout the event, the community came together to contribute to the success, with funds raised via an online auction and raffles. The dedication and hard work of WWAC staff and volunteers played a massive role in orchestrating this unforgettable evening.
Nicola Kelly, who organised the event for WWAC said “As we reflect on the success of this year's Big Burns Bash, we extend our heartfelt gratitude to the friends, old and new, who shared in the evening. Their presence added immeasurable joy to this occasion, and we eagerly anticipate the festivities and camaraderie of next year's celebration.”
